What is therapy?

In individual counselling and psychotherapy, clients meet their therapist on a one-to-one basis. In the session, the therapist will encourage you to explore your feelings and discuss the issues that are troubling you.

You will need to feel safe and secure with the therapist in order to do this comfortably, so it’s important to find a therapist you feel you can talk to.

The BACP offers a very useful website called “It’s good to talk” that explains what therapy involves and also what to expect from your sessions.

I understand it can be difficult to make the first call to a therapist. Please be assured that I will take your call seriously and I will hope to set you at ease.

In our first meeting we will discuss your reasons for coming to therapy and we will find out if we are able to work together.

I charge £50 per 50 minute session. For couples I charge £75 for a 50 minute session.
